#027 Service design

D101 Task of the day

Today, like any other Saturday, there is no particular homework.
Just watch the video and think about this very special service design system.
Think about the service design where you live, the service design in your life.

Plusbus Shopping
In my country, The Netherlands, The National Elderly Assistance Fund has been set up Plusbus Shopping in various places and also in my hometown.
The bus ensures that the participants, mostly elderly and disabled people, come among people despite their limitations and that they can do their own groceries shopping.
The purpose of the bus is especially given that they have a nice morning or afternoon. Social contacts are promoted and loneliness contested.
Participants will be picked up at home. Together, they are going in a bus to the grocery shopping. There are always several volunteers on hand to help. Volunteers help with carrying bags, support walking, pushing the wheelchair. If necessary, groceries are brought inside when they return home. The participants and volunteers also drink a cup of coffee in stores. The helping retailers provide a cookie and during holidays something special. In the bus there is also place for walkers and people sitting in their wheelchairs.
