#095 Eternal Love

Task of the day

Today, from your one blue flower you will make a series of blue flowers.
Just like a flower in bloom, with time it changes form, from closed to open, to closed again.
It’s about repeating the same exercise, a number of times, changing a few parameters. We say, choose one parameter that will change. This is a way to explore all possible variants of that same parameter.

The parameter I changed was the material. By changing this parameter the expression of love changes and the story that is told evolves in time.

#094 Eternal Tears in Blue

Task of the day

Organize yesterday’s references and ideas to fabricate your first blue flower.
Your flower should be self-standing. Proud or humble, with a good posture: firm, rooted, but ultimately flexible.

#089 Stranger in a Strange Land

Task of the day

Today, you will make a photo shoot.
Find the right playlist to get you in the right mood...
Then, once you have your shots, go to lookbook.nu, and post your best picture for the world to see...
Only one, that’s all you need to make others fall into your fantasy world.
But remember to share a screenshot with us!

#088 Tulle Skirt

Task of the day

Today, you will document the making of your dress. Make a how-to, a “pattern” for others to use.
Create a world, a context, a language for it to come alive.

#087 FabFlo

Task of the day

Today, you will handpick your fabric.
From a rainbow of colours, select a purple-hued fabric to make your purple garment.

Searching for some fabric for my garment and thinking about Design 101 and all of you I suddenly had this flower in my hands.

I also read the color purple promotes creativity. So, this flower is for all of you!
and maybe especially for those with no sewing machine and/or no sewing experience ;-)

#086 AdvertSkirt

Task of the day

Today, you will plan, draw, make a full scale paper model of your future “dress”.
Think about it’s volume. Think about it’s fit. But above all, think about the seams.
How will you put your “dress”’pieces together?

Share two nice images with us!

#085 Dressing People

This week we have to dress up ourself.

I don't have a sewing machine and I can’t sew. The one-hour limit still applies. So this week will be a big challenge.

#080 Mindfulness "Shelter"

D101 Task of the day

Today, you will assemble the components of your tent. Start putting the pieces together…
The ones that you fabricated yesterday. Focus on the joints: the most important part of the whole.
Then, share two images with us. One of the work in progress and one of the final result.

Mindfulness “Shelter”

My “shelter”, my notebook, my ZAP Book.

The ideal place to zap away from everything and everyone if I need to.

Easy to use and easy to take anywhere I go.

For all my travels, real and imaginary.

And last but not least, 100% environment friendly.

And then, share your story with us!

This is the coat of my three dogs who are deceased.
They represent a treasure of memories and many stories
about what we've been through together.

Serve the drinks with felted fur snacks
&
let’s toast on our memories and stories

Cheers!

#068 Framed Vase

D101 Task of the day

Use thick cardboard to create a vase / bowl. Imagine new ways to use a traditional material.
What could you do with cardboard and how? Post a picture of your vase!

Which picture to choose to upload on the platform. The one with the shadow (left) or the more stylized with dark background (right). I finally choose for the left one because of the shadow but I like the one on the right most.

#066 Even the smallest flowers. . .

D101 Task of the day

Some weeks ago, we introduced you to Google SketchUp. Now, it’s your turn to use it.
Today we want you to sketch one vase, an existing one or one of your own creation.
If you feel like it, you should sketch two vases. An existing one, and a new one, a reinterpretation (of yours) from the first one. Share a picture of the final model (or two final models) with us.

You know them. The small flowers such as daisies, forget-me-nots, meadow buttercup...
Even the smallest shot glass is too large to put them in.

This vase is made of several independent placeable layers. You can adjust the height depending on the number of flowers that you have.

The holes to put the flowers in are very tiny.

This was the first time I worked with a drawing program, hence this fairly simple version. It is not the vase from homework #65 but my own design on SketchUp.
